Besides web functions, the SEP Smartphone will feature e-mail communication and simultaneous access to all portals like MSN, Yahoo, ICQ or Chikka.
Each of the companies forming the ULC2 group has its role, for example Infineon is developing the platform, TJAT Systems is in charge with enabling all mobile messaging and integrated services, while Jurong Technologies has to integrate Infineon’s platform and the other systems and produce the Smart Entry phone model. The one that’ll distribute the phone worldwide is Brightstar.

According to the latest statistics, India will be the biggest market for this type of phones in the next five years, as in 2006 it started from nine million handsets to reach 116 million in 2011.
That’s all we know so far about this new phone and we expect to find out new information including price, availability and pictures after the Mobile World Congress.

"We are pleased to enter into this collaboration with Infineon and TJAT Systems to produce the world's first and lowest-cost smart entry phone with web-based communication functions. We believe that there is a huge market potential for such a product, particularly in Asia, where internet usage and wireless handset subscription are both at an all-time high. Thus, we are pleased to have secured a valuable partner in Brightstar, who will be marketing the new smart entry phone worldwide, starting from the Asia Pacific," declared Mr Cheang Chee Ming, President and CEO of Jurong Technologies.
