The National Design Awards started back in 2000 at the White House and since then it has been celebrating best American design ideas from different sectors, promoting innovation.
This year, the jury was formed by 800 top designers, educators, journalists, cultural figures, and corporate leaders chosen across America. They had to choose the right creations for awards in the following categories: Design Mind, Corporate Achievement, Design Patron, Architecture Design, Communications Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Landscape Design and Product Design.

The 23/6 Mobile PC made for Fujitsu by Antenna Design was one of the winners for Porduct Design at this year’s event. Antenna Design was founded by Sigi Moeslinger and Masamichi Udagawa in 1997, and its main focus is on “incorporating new media and an interactive, thought-provoking aspect to engage the user”. Among its clients are Bloomberg LP, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald’s, Fujitsu, and Microsoft.

This is not the first ward it receives. At the International Design Excellence Awards it impressed with the Bloomberg Flexible Display and with the Enterprise IP Telephony Products created for Microsoft.

This stylish lavender-colored Fujitsu laptop called the 23/6 Mobile PC features non-stop wireless connectivity, fast processing speeds, quick access to information, and advanced entertainment features, while running on Windows operating system. It is designed to be flexible, lightweight, and the user can fold it up to the pocketable size of a CD case.
It has a low power consuming OLED display measuring 7 inches in diagonal, a 16-mm folding keyboard with trackpad, and a DVD burner.

Antenna Design’s Windows mobile pocket PC idea is interesting enough to make me want to have this cool laptop in my pocket, and the folding mechanism is also impressive.
