Let’s imagine how it could be to have a special phone which could perform special functions like loading a bank account with a simple text message.
I personally like the idea a lot. Now you probably wonder if it’s not too simple to be true.

Mobile payment system is not new but in the same time not so advanced. For example Paypal offers this kind of service but it hasn’t caught the interest of too much people.
At this point, Google comes on the scene with a new patent intended to transform into the mobile version of Google Checkout.

Its Text Message Payment patent filled on February 28th 2006 with the US patent office displays the method on which text messages could be used for payments of goods from vending machines and retailers and also how validating larger payment accounts may be made.

As you’ve probably heard, Google intends to launch a mobile phone later this year named GPhone and if we put the two ideas together we could assume that a phone specially designed to work with this kind of payment system would make the company jump over other mobile operators.

The payer will have to simply compose a text message with identifying information for the payee and the amount of the payment and then sending it to a payment processing system which could debit an account, credit ii and finally notify the payer about the finalized transfer.

On August 30 the new Text Message Payment patent published talks about the GPay as the name of the mobile payments system Google is working at.
Google suggested that this patent is still in the project phase and probably it will be independent of mobile phone carriers and their billing systems.
