Innotech Systems is a leading developer of voice-controlled and interactive remote controls. It won the prestigious award at CES Innovations 2007 in the Home Theater Accessories category, for the SurfBoard voice activated remote control.
With the use of Innotech infrared remote control code library, users can control various home system devices, but the SurfBoard is really amazing, so I’ll tell you more about it and the latest product addition.
This remote control is designed as a surfboard to match its scope of surfing TV channels, with large buttons, an ergonomic construction for easy use, as well as two high-end technologies to simplify everything. Smart Source is reducing the number of buttons and knows whether to send your commands to the TV or cable/satellite box.
You can train the voice recognition system to associate words like “HBO” or other channel names to channel numbers, so at a later time to just say “surf” handsfree, and the remote will start surfing the channels.
Surfboard voice activated remote control is available at about $50.
At the end of June, the developer announced a new product release, the Accenda Voice Control for iPod, which lets you control the device’s functions handfree, using just your voice.

"The iPod click wheel is a brilliant design, but is not convenient if you are wearing gloves, your iPod player is in a pocket, you don't have a free hand, or you can't see the display," said Len Novara, president of Innotech Systems. "By providing hands-free operation, the ACCENDA VOICE CONTROL for iPod makes a great product even greater. We expect it to be one of the most useful iPod accessories ever introduced."
iPod owners can adjust the volume, play a song, stop play, go to the next track, go to the previous track, or replay a song without lifting a finger, and it works after hanged around the neck or clipped as an accessory. It powers directly from the iPod.
Compatible models include iPod nano (1st generation), iPod nano (2nd generation), iPod nano (3rd generation), iPod touch, iPod with color display, iPod mini, iPod with Click Wheel, iPod with video, and iPod classic.
The voice activated remote control will be available at a starting price of $99.95 and the mass production will start in September.
