UK Chooses Best Websites on the Net





At this year’s edition of the Website of Year 2008, the UK users’ choices were from 223 sites in 18 categories, and votes were gathered between November and December.



The best websites on the net, in UK's view, had to meet several important criteria such as highest scores on design, navigation and content, while the most popular website is the one with the highest number of votes.

And the winners are:
Best community site: Wayn.com – a travel and lifestyle social network where you can meet people based on their location, share travel information, read reviews and check pictures and videos.



Best fun & games site: Zylom.co.uk - a place where you can play lots of cool and free online games.



Best real estate site: Zoopla.co.uk – UK’s largest property database, where you can find information on property values, sold house prices and value estimates.



Best media sharing site: YouTube.com



Best portal site: Google.co.uk/ig



Best isp & telecom site: Nokia.co.uk



Best career site: CharityJob - a place where you can post and find charity jobs



Best non profit site: CancerResearchUK.org - where you can find information on cancer research



Best automotive site: Autoexposure.co.uk – which offers specialist web solutions to the motor and media industries



Best finance site: BBC News Business - the UK version of the BBC News Business online newspaper



Best shopping site: Dooyoo.co.uk – a social-shopping platform that helps people take the right purchasing decisions



Best body & mind site: Womens-Health.co.uk - a large resource of information related to women’s health



Best entertainment site: Kontraband - a website dedicated to young men and providing videos, games and photos.



Best sports site: Arsenal.com



Best search & find site: Everyclick.com



Best news site: NewsNow.co.uk



Best travel site: Trivago - a place where you can meet people and share your experience with worldwide points of interest



Best tv & radio site: Discovery.com
