If you wanted to buy a camera but are not sure which model to choose, we could give you some ideas by showing you which models were the most popular amongst digital cameras in 2009.  Let us begin with the top ten digital cameras of 2009.





The first one on the list is the Canon PowerShot SD940 IS. You can buy this digital camera for about $229 and it comes with a 12.2 megapixel resolution, a 4x optical zoom and a battery life that will allow you to take about 220 pictures. The size of the included display is 2.7 inch. It has all the best features of a digital camera like built in flash, self-times, image stabilizer, red eye reduction and it comes with rechargeable batteries. You get 1 year warranty with the camera. The shutter speed is 15 – 1/1500 seconds and the focal length is 5.0 – 20.0 mm.

The second of the top ten digital cameras 2009 is the Samsung Dual View TL225. This camera is price at $256 so it’s a bit more expensive than the other one. It comes with a 12.2 megapixel resolution and the battery life will allow you to take about 180 images. It comes with image stabilizer, self timer and pretty much all the other features like the Canon we mentioned above. This Samsung comes with 55 MB of built in memory and 7.7 – 22.5 focal length. It has 6 frames per second and a 5x digital zoom.



The third item on the list is the Nikon CoolPix S1000pi. With a price of $329, this digital camera comes with a 12.1 megapixel resolution and a 5x optical zoom. The battery will permit about 220 images taken. Aside from the regular features, this camera has a 2.7 inch display, a 28 – 144 mm in focal length and the shutter speed is 4 – 1/1500 seconds. The camera has 36 MB of internal memory and 1.3 frames per second. The ISO Speeds are Auto 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400.



Next in line we have yet another Canon PowerShot only this time it’s the SD990 IS model. This model is a bit more expensive as you have to pay $449 in order to buy it. It has a 14.7 megapixel resolution and a 3x optical zoom. The battery life is a bit more powerful compared to other models as you can take up to 500 images on a full charge.  The display measures 2.5 inches in diagonal and it comes with 32 MB of internal storage memory. It has a focal length of 7.7 – 28.5 mm and a 15 – 1/1600 seconds shutter speed.

The 5^th position is occupied by the Samsung Dual View TL220. This camera is priced at $254 and it comes with a 12.2 megapixels resolution, a 4.6x optical zoom and a battery capacity that can allow you to take about 180 images. The front display measures 1.5 inches in diagonal and the main one, the one located in the back measures 3 inches in diagonal.  It comes with 55 MB of internal storage memory and 7.7 – 22.5 mm in focal length.
