TIPA Awards Sony

TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) is the largest photo and imaging press association in Europe. Each year the members of this association vote for ‘Best Photo and Imaging Products in Europe’.

This year, two products from Sony received TIPA’s Awards. The a200 D-SLR was named ‘Best Entry-Level D-SLR in Europe’. With a 10.2 MP sensor that offers a resolution of up to 3,872 x 2,592 pixels and with the 18-70 mm zoom lens, this camera delivers high-quality images, up to ISO 4000, at a very attractive retail price of approximately $520. The a200 also features a 2.7†LCD display, 9-point center cross AF sensor, 40-segment honeycomb metering system and 3 FPS burst mode.

The second product that brought Sony a TIPA Award was the DPF-V900/V700 photo frame, which received the ‘Best Photo Frame in Europe’ title. This Sony digital photo frames offer a 9†(DPF-V900) and 7†(DPF-V700) ultra-high resolution screen, with functions like Red-eye Reduction, Skin Smoothing, Focus Correction and Exposure Correction. The Sony BIONZ inside image processor can open pictures up to 100MB in seconds. The data transfer is made via USB, or wireless through Bluetooth adaptor. Both frames feature HDMI outputs, while the internal memory offers room for almost 1000 pictures.
More than that, Sony has also won this year the ‘Best Photo Kiosk in Europe’ Award from TIPA for the Sony Compact Picture Station.
