The Eye Dot Me is watching you

Some would say that a light is just a light and we shouldn’t give one too much of importance, because what a light should do is to… well… bring some light in your life, when there isn’t such thing. Ok, when the sun goes down and there’s no other way to see things and you don’t want to stumble over your couch when trying to go for a glass of water.

But some people are interested in having a stylish light, one to perfectly suit the overall design of a room. In this case, you shouldn’t be surprised that the designers of the Eye Dot Me Light have tried to take things a little bit further.
Created by Simon Schiessl and Felix Hardwood, the device is part of the 2009 edition of the DMY Berlin Design Festival. It looks like an eye which is watching you all day long from above, giving you the strange feeling that every step that you make is closely followed. The source of power is represented by many high-powered LED lights which create the impression of an iris well hidden inside the lamp.
As usual, these concepts are not all to become reality, so the designers should be patient up until the moment someone decides to hit this thing to the mass production.
