Switch Mouse Brings New Ergonomic Computer Mouse Solution

The Switch Mouse from Humanscale might dethrone the HandshoeMouse, which is considered to be the best computer mouse for its unique shape that holds your palm in a relaxing position. One difference between the two is the price. The Horse, also known as HandshoeMouse, can be ordered at €119.95, while the Switch Mouse costs $78 at Sitbetter.



We read about it and found out that it won several prestigious awards including an iF Product Design Award 2008 and a Good Design Award.
The optical Switch Mouse developed by Humanscale Design Studio, a company focused on ergonomic design, started to ship this summer at a retail price of $120 with 2 new innovations: the base in the shape of the "V" letter for minimizing wrist pronation, and the navigation dish that replaces the traditional scrolling wheel, reducing muscle activity and enabling users to scroll through pages in all 4 directions with one touch.



More than that, it features the size-adjustability system called the Extender, which allows the user to custom its form for both left and right hands of any size. Then there’s the palm support to increase wrist positions safety, as well as 3 user-programmable buttons. With these elements you can move your hand at 45 degrees and reduce repetitive motion stress.



The mouse has very few system requirements, while the specification list includes: 800 dpi resolution, Micro Switch, up to 70mA power consumption, 1,000,000 cycles mechanical life, 150 cm cable length and an USB connector.
It might not be the best gaming mouse on the market but it surely is a great solution for those working many hours on the computer.
