Super Utilities Pro 7.65 Review
Published by Codrut Nistor, on Aug 09 2007, in the categories: Reviews
In the long run, you gain a lot of precious time by doing a lot of things from the same interface than starting up and using a dozen different applications to accomplish the same goals. Today, I will tell you about an excellent tools package, called Super Utilities Pro.
Setup
The last version of this program, 7.65, was released on the 18th of July, so it's still quite fresh. The setup package isn't really large, considering all that comes with it, and I am sure that even people using dial up won't wait for an eternity to download the 5MB file with the trial version of this application...
Once the kit is downloaded, the installation process goes smoothly, as you can see below, so there's nothing to be afraid of, it's as easy as 1-2-3! The trial version will work for 14 days, but allows you to experience all the features of the full program for this period, so... get ready!

Interface
Features
Super Utilities Pro has 5 main areas of interest, each one with its own tools. These are the System Cleaner, Security Doctor, Privacy Protector, System Maintenance and Special Tools. The Options area and the Help can be easily accessed, no matter where you are, by using one of the two icons placed in the upper right corner of the main window.
The System Cleaner allows you to easily remove junk files, clean up your registry, uninstall programs using the Uninstaller Plus tool, repair broken shortcuts and even to defragment your memory, with the help of the Memory Turbo tool.
The Security Doctor area contains tools able to remove various spyware threats that may be present on your computer, as well as to manage your IE passwords, startup items or services, and more.
The Privacy Protector is packed with the right tools for cleaning your tracks, hiding folders or destroying files using a method developed by the US Department of Defense, DoD 5220.2-M (in future versions, a custom shredding method would be a nice addition).
The Sytem Maintenance area contains tools which let you check the hardware and software you have, backup your drivers or access various tools that are built into your OS, like Scan Disk or System Restore.
At last, the Folder Analyzer or the Auto Shutdown features, located in the Special Tools area, could help those that want to shutdown their computer when CPU activity drops below a certain threshold or simply want to check where are gone those 20GB of free space they had last week.
The Good
Super Utilities Pro has an excellent interface, and translations are available for a lot of languages, including Korean, Turkish or Chinese. For its price, this utilities package offers a lot of features and, unlike some of its competitors, is very easy to use, even by beginners.
The Bad
While extremely useful for Windows XP, this program doesn't have what it takes to be just as good for Vista users. Other than that, things look just great, so if you're a Windows XP user, there isn't much left you could ask from Super Utilities Pro that you won't get.
Conclusion
I have a weakness for these all-in-one tools, especially for those that are well done. Super Utilities Pro is exactly one of those, and I think there's nothing else to add. Just grab the trial version using the link below and enjoy the benefits of this excellent software!
Developer: Superlogix Software Inc

Not feature rick, lacks optimize tools, poor help cost is high compared to what you can get with others. I asked for a refund and still waiting 10 days now. If this is your data life care better know how to swim

Well, you get MemTurbo and a bit of other goodies. I agree with you it's not the best all-in-one suite around, but it's not the worst either.
When you get your refund - because I am sure you'll get it, be sure to check the trial version for as long as you can before making a purchase.
Next week I'll have a really cool all-in-one suite, and if that won't satisfy you either, then I will help you optimize your Windows manually (I am sure you know there are a lot of registry hacks available and things that you can do by yourself, like creating a swap partition, for example).
P.S. Don't worry about the refund, you must get your money back. I had problems with a certain hosting provider once, and I had to wait for a month and a half to get my refund, although they said I'll get my money in less than a week.
