Stinger 553 World’s Smallest Computer
Posted by: Sierra Monica B. in Gadgets

If I’m mistaking please tell me, but at this point I can say I’ve never seen a computer with a smaller form factor like the new Stinger 553 introduced by CodaOctopus Colmek, a company specialized in developing systems for the military, defense, oceanography, industrial and medical sectors.
It’s clear that the world’s smallest computer here is rugged and fits military activities on the field in harsh environments, but the developer recommends it to civilians as well.

Stinger 553 measures 5 x 5 x 3 inches and the performance measurements revealed an equivalent with a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 computer. It is powered by the low-power consuming Intel Atom processing technology at 1.4 GHz and houses 2GB of RAM memory, 128 GB Solid State Drive storage, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 4 GPIO, 7 RS-232 serial ports, one LVDS 24bit interface, and one SDVO interface.
The world’s smallest computer sports an aluminum alloy chassis and is designed to be dust-, water- and moisture-resistant. It supports the integration of a computer mouse, keyboard and monitor, while running on Windows, Linux or VxWorks.
There’s no word on price.
