Sophos WebAlert Website Security Monitoring System

If you are administering a website and want to be always up to date with its security level, you can use Sophos WebAlert service and know when your website is infected by receiving real-time notifications, as soon as malicious codes are detected, so you to be able to take action immediately.

Latest statistics showed that as a new infected webpage is detected every 5 seconds, there have been in total 380,000 malicious codes running on websites since the beginning of last month. About 90% of all these pages are on legitimate sites and the hacking techniques involved SQL Injection.

Another big problem is that normal users landing on the infected pages are vulnerable as well, even if this issue takes places in places like BusinessWeek, Yahoo! TV, British government websites, UNICEF, MySpace, Sony PlayStation, and the International Tennis Federation.
According to Sophos, the new WebAlert service is provided for free to those who already use Sophos Premium and Platinum Support services. In addition it offers support via phone, email and online 24 hours a day, worldwide.

"For too long it has been child's play for hackers to infect websites without the owner of the site ever being aware,” said Carole Theriault, senior security consultant, Sophos. “Many firms have still not coded their websites correctly or taken the preventative measures necessary to stop infections like this occurring. Sophos WebAlert provides companies with visibility as to whether their websites are being attacked."
