Sony H20 Digital Camera

I don’t know why, but I think I prefer Sony digital cameras over Sony VAIO laptops. I always believed that the performance of a Sony VAIO never justified the price. And just to give you an example as to why I think Sony cameras are awesome, let us see what the Sony H20 digital camera can do.

With a price of only $279.99, this camera has 4.3 x 2.8 x 1.9 inches in dimensions and 9.9 ounces in weight. The camera has 10 megapixels and a 3 inch LCD. The highest resolution at which the Sony H20 digital camera can take pictures is 3648 x 2736 pixels and the video resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels at 30 FPS. With a new and improved menu, this Sony digital camera is easy to use and maneuver even by those that haven’t got a clue.

With a 10x zoom lens and cools looks, this camera takes excellent photos. Due to the size of the camera we can’t exactly say that it is going to fit in just any pocket. All the buttons that are distributed along the surface of the camera are big enough to be easily pressed and in time if you get used to their position, you can even press them when you’re not looking at the camera. On the top you will notice the mode dial which was strategically placed there so you can easily handle it with your thumb.

The top side also hosts the power button, the zoom ring and the shutter release. The Smile shutter is quite a cool feature as it actually gives the camera a command to continuously take picture when the subject is smiling. The Sony H20 digital camera has a couple of general shooting options which may be of interest to you. The ISO Sensitivity can be set to Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 or 3200. The white balance can be adjusted to Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent 1, 2, and 3, Incandescent, Flash, and Manual. Intelligent Auto, Easy, Program, Manual, Scene Selection and Movie are the recording modes. Even if you have manual setting options, most of them are set to Auto so you can take pictures without having to worry about having made the right settings all the time. The Sony Intelligent Auto is the one responsible for turning on face detection and image stabilization. The SCN is awesome because it lets you choose between different scenery like Beach or Fireworks. The Advanced Sports option will keep any moving subjects in focus.

This camera is placed in the megazooms category and even if these types of cameras are considered to be the slowest, the Sony H20 digital camera did not seem to disappoint users so far. It takes 1.5 for the start time. Other numbers that may be of interest to the photography passionate are the 2.1 seconds time for shot-to-shot under bright light and 2.8 second when the camera is in flash use. Ok, it may not be the best digital camera in the world but you have to admit that for the price you pay, you get a camera above the category average.
