Smart patch helps you calculate caloric intake and expenditure
Posted by: Maria Mihale in News

We only live once, this is what most of the people do not understand, even if they say they do, even if they pretend living their lives guided by a quote like “Carpe diem!â€. They all say that, but they don’t act as if they really were convinced that enjoying every single moment is the most important thing of them all. I don’t think that we should do anything that ever crosses our minds, but the least we could do is to stop counting calories, for God’s sake!

I’ve seen so many people, girls in particular, thin as hell, who were desperately trying to lose weight. This is a sick way of thinking about ourselves, but it seems that having the spider’s waist is very important.
I have never encouraged the continuous and irrational feeding, which is the main cause of obesity these days, but this doesn’t mean we should spend our time checking the caloric intake and expenditure. However, there are many sophisticated websites and software available in the market to help you do this. But now, here you have a smart patch, designed by PhiloMetron, which is able to help you calculate the caloric intake and expenditure.
Consisting of a mixture between sensors, electrodes, accelerometers, and a very special algorithm, the patch is able to measure how much calories you have eaten, how many calories you managed to burn, and then, of course, to use the information in order to give you the net gain or loss during 24 hours. Then, the information is being sent to the cell phone of a dieter, using a Bluetooth wireless connection. And you will have a feedback, of this you can be sure. And it will be something like “you missed your goal for today, but you can make it up tomorrow by taking a 15-minute walk or having a salad for dinnerâ€.
Unfortunately, we don’t know for the moment how much this smart patch will cost and how precisely it works.
