Sky Concept Phones

Many cellphones still retain the 1980’s layout and that proves that designers won’t risk it with weird and fancy approaches for now. But where’s that look and feel of the future? It’ll be 2010 soon and most cellphones still incorporate “ancient†designs.
You know Asians are way ahead of their time when it comes to technology. Sky Premium (a susbsidiary of Pantech) has recently organized a design contest, which involved several Korean universities in creating a cell phone for 2010. Here are five of the coolest designs that caught the eye of Pantech:
The Wavy Stream – a nature-inspired design with a wavy keyboard that appears to be folding away like a wallet; watch out for that space bar, it’s kind of hard to press.
The WaterFall Fish – look Ma’, I get three wishes from my gold fish!
The Simplice Section – more of a retro-styled design for this one; we got ourselves a new remote control!
The Cell Dot – this one is amazing, check out those cool cells on the back and it’s pretty thin, too.
The Lily Tower – reminds me of a spiffy weapon slant.
Impressive job, I’d say. And we could actually see some of these designs in commercial models as soon as 2010.
