Sennheiser CD Audio Quality Earphones
Posted by: Sierra Monica B. in Gadgets

Sennheiser has jut released a set of wireless earphones that are allegedly better than their bluetooth counterparts in terms of audio quality: lossless sound instead of compressed quality sound.
The set is called MXW1 and uses audio transmission technology from Kleer (chip maker). Like Bluetooth, this system operates in the 2.4GHz band, but Kleer claims its approach is better able to work together with other wireless connectivity technologies, such as Wi-Fi and it also fits into the narrowband gaps between the WLAN channels. MXW1 has been created more for high quality audio listening rather than simple communication.
The small earpieces will come with a transmitter that fits onto the back of an iPod (for example) thanks to an elastic strip. The transmitter with built in battery is about the size of a book of matches according to Sennheiser. While capturing the analogue signal from the player's stereo socket, the signal is digitalised but not compressed. The price hasn't been confirmed yet.
