Secret Code Clock

Secret Code Clock

The Secret Code Wall Clock from Signals is a surprising concept.

It shows strange words instead of numbers for the hours and it’s made of standard materials like any other wall clock –aluminum frame and glass front, measuring 12 inches in diameter.

One AA battery type is enough to power the clock so that when the minute hand passes on the strange characters the real hour is revealed. Look closer in the picture.

This isn't such a great design, its hardly a "secret code"
people have enough trouble reading roman numbers. Now THATS a code. ....line... line... V!!

Let's not forget there are watches with no numbers, but just dots instead, or LED watches. This one here is something cool, different and it shows the our written in letters:P

there is line V or IV which is 4, but there is no line line V in roman numerals ;-)

With a name like "Secret Code Clock," you'd expect this post to be about something smart and interesting. Sure, maybe you could call it "cool," but it's really not that amazing, nor is there anything "secret code" about it. You can clearly read the names at the other positions, so the hour hand barely "reveals" anything.

This won't work unless you look at this clock perfectly head-on like in the photo. Otherwise the hand won't line up with the 'code' underneath.

I don't think you need exactly 90 degrees to see the hour :D
It must be a wider angle though.
