Ripple Faucet

Do you remember my article from January when I was showing you the cool LED faucet light that attaches to your sink tap and changes the color of the water in red and blue?
Well here is a new gadget, more advanced involving an entire bathroom sink design.
It was conceived by Touch360, a firm specialized in product design and innovation in design, and was the Ripple Faucet.

This elegant and superb bathroom sink faucet has a visual system comprised of the ripple interface surface, 2 water channels and the metal ball that you see in the pictures, which sits on top of the rippled surface and is meant to control the faucet.
Actually the ball controls the flow and the water temperature. For example, when it moves away from the center the water flow increases while if it moves around the circles the temperature of the water changes and you can see if the water is hot or cold from the LEDs color. These LEDs are placed under the ripple to spread the colored light across the circles.

Also, under the ripple are sensors and electromagnets for tactile feedback so the user moving the ball feels its reactions at the fingers’ surface.
When you would want to combine the cold and hot water to make it perfect for your sensitive hands’ skin, you’d move the metal ball and you’d also see the color of the water on the circles changing according to the new temperature, but in reality, the water that comes from the 2 channels has the same temperature because the faucet doesn’t use a hot water heater but a flash type combined with a servo unit for controlling the water distribution between channels.
