It just announced three new products based on this technology, in the shape of wearable wristbands: Wrist-Fit, Wrist-Fit Velcro and the Silicone Rubber. They are made of a soft and flexible material for comfortability, are completely waterproof, and operate in very high and very low temperatures.
Wrist-Fit RFID wristbands are destined to the health sector and can be branded with logos, and printed with serial numbers. They are made of ABS and PVC, with metal enclosure, and come in different colors, with high-frequency chips of 13.56 MHz or low-frequency chip of 125 kHz.
High-frequency tags have ranges of tens of centimeters and have a lower cost than low-frequency chips.
Wrist-Fit Velcro bands can be used in access control applications such as in sports facilities for club members. These are also flexible and comfortable to wear, coming in grey or blue.
The Silicone Rubber RFID wristbands come in blue, red, green, yellow, black and white, and are made of silicone.
But let’s see what RFID is and how it works.
Called Radio-frequency identification, it is a technology used for automatic recognition of the information stored on special tags, remotely. These tags can be placed into different wearable objects, like bracelets, clothing, or animal collars, to keep the personal data. The scanning is done using radio waves from up to several meters distance.
Tags consist of an integrated circuit that processes the data stored, modulates and demodulates the RF signals, and an antenna that receives and transmits the signals.
