Plant Pot

How long till we acquaint our pretty flowers and plants with the latest computer tech? Looks like somebody already came with a funny way to let plants interact with computers in order to let us know how they feel and what they need. Junyi Heo is proud to present his 21st Century plant pot.

The pot is filled with sensors measuring temperature, soil moisture and all this stuff, and informs you about each of these aspects on a display with a mix of emoticons and symbols. This way you stay in touch with your plants, knowing exactly what they want. The pot is clever enough to drain itself if you somehow forget about this little detail over the days. It charges via USB, also sending its data to your PC for a detailed report on the plant’s status.

Now, I ask… why do they have female and male faces? From what I know, plants don’t have a specific gender. Maybe these were included for an eventual pot mating? Like, if you put two pots of different genders close enough, some digital spark goes off and the pots go all crazy for one another and the plants inside them intertwine their stems and leaves? Just a thought…
