Pentax Optio Z10 Digital Camera
Posted by: Adina in Cameras
The Pentax Optio z10 digital camera is something a little bit different than everything the Pentax Company has done so far. First of all, we have to take into consideration that the company was never really keen on making compact cameras, but the Pentax Optio z10 digital camera seems to be an exception. With a 2.5 inch LED display that allow you to go through the pictures which you took and stored into the camera’s memory, the Pentax Optio z10 digital camera certainly has some aces up its sleeve.

Even if this camera does not include an optical sensor for image stabilization it tries to compensate by the ISO boosting that can stabilize the digital image and therefore, combat the blur caused by your hands shaking when taking photos. With a starting price of $199, I’m not sure f you can expect to get a camera for professionals so be prepared for certain gaps, lacks and missing features of this digital camera. We always love to see the face detection feature on a digital camera but the sad part is that if you don’t already know where you have to activate this feature from, it is going to be very difficult to find out. And by all this I mean that you have to activate it manually and it is found under Portrait or Natural Skin Tone scene modes. If you are interested in timing, here are some figures related to the Pentax Optio z10 digital camera: from the minute you turn the camera on and the moment when you can take the actual picture, about 2.2 second are going to pass, which is not half bad. If the flash is not turned on, it is going to take 3 second between shooting 2 different images. The 0.4 seconds of shutter lag are very impressive.

With the Pentax Optio z10 digital camera we have discovered that the lower the ISO, the better the image. The colors of this camera are surely nice and 8 megapixels in resolution seems fair enough for $200. The white balance feature manages to neutralize colors and when you take pictures under fluorescent light, it is recommended that you use the fluorescent preset. Since the noise level is important on a digital camera (and we have explained in one of our previous articles what is “noise†on a digital camera when it comes to ISO), you should know that the Pentax Optio z10 digital camera manages to get the lowest level of noise when ISO is kept under 400.

The focal length is 6.3 mm - 44.1 mm and the optical zoom is 7x while the digital zoom is 5x. you will discover that one of the major flaws of this camera is the fact that you have to wait a bit between taking pictures; either than that, there is nothing seriously wrong with this camera and the price of the Pentax Optio z10 digital camera makes it an option worth taking into consideration when the camera is not something you want to spend big bucks on.
