Oracle Adds Google Maps To Field Service Software
Posted by: Adina in Software

Oracle is integrating Google Maps into its Field Service dispatch management application in an effort to let business users manage service calls more efficiently through the use of precise geographical information.
Oracle Field Service will include application programming interfaces that allow users to easily add geographic data pulled from Google Maps for Enterprise mapping software.
That should allow field service dispatchers to more quickly identify problem locations and create the most efficient routes for service personnel to follow.
The capability will also allow field technicians to view their upcoming jobs using the satellite or map views within Google Maps.
In addition to adding Google Maps, Field Service r12 contains a number of other enhancements. It adds spatial coverage for Western Europe and other non-US markets and tools for scheduling multi-day field calls and customer appointment confirmation tracking.
It also includes portal software for field service managers, allowing them to more easily work with third-party field service representatives across multiple time zones.
A dashboard view lets managers track inventories in field service warehouses and technician stores. Oracle Field Service Release 12, with integration tools for Google Maps, is available immediately.
