November Giveaway: Win a Linksys-Cisco Wireless-N Broadband Router

Published by Sierra Monica B., on Nov 03 2008, in the categories: giveaways

As we know, you love giveaways and that’s why we have prepared a consistent prize for this month’s winner.
PRIZE UPGRADE:
Good news! The prize has been upgraded with the newest Cisco-LinkSys wireless router model, which is an Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router coming in an extremely stylish design. By supporting the IEEE 802.11n wireless standard, it enables the highest connection speeds being much faster than wireless G, but still supporting the A, B, G standards.

WRT160N keeps the 4-port Switch functionality, while reducing the number of dead spots with the MIMO technology that uses multiple radios for creating a strong signal.

(It is the Linksys-Cisco Wireless-G Broadband Router that supports the highest 2.4GHz wireless speeds of up to 54Mbps for your home network, with support for the previous B standard, acting also as 4-port 10/100 switch. You can connect up to 4 computers to the router in a wired star network configuration and benefit from the fast and reliable full-duplex technology or, why not, extend your LAN by adding some more hubs and switches and create a large and efficient office network.
The award-winning Linksys-Cisco Wireless-G Broadband Router is the next step that gets you closer to the recently introduced wireless Draft N standard and, in addition, it comes with advanced security features like Wi-Fi Protected Access, wireless MAC address filtering and powerful SPI firewall.)

In order to win it, all you have to do is to find your favorite digital crib example among the video entries at Cisco’s contest called Digital Cribs: Heaven or Hell? and tell us why you think it’s the coolest, or the worse.
After leaving your comment including a valid email address where we will contact you in case you are the winner, why not to make a short recording with your own digital crib and submit it at the Cisco’s contest. This is the smartest way of spending 10 minutes of your time for winning $10,000.

If you are not one of those super-inventive guys or girls, don’t worry, because you’ll still have the chance to win one of the 10 gift cards worth $500 each, with the same submission. More than that, the contest is called Digital Cribs: Heaven or Hell? which means that there will be 2 winners of the grand prize of $10,000 – one showing the coolest tech room with the smartest networking system including wireless connectivity between gadgets, which helps finishing things fast, and one presenting the most frustrating story involving broken connections, tones of wires, and lots of nerves consumed for getting jobs done.

You can rate submissions and submit your own until November 26, while the winners will be announced on December 8, based on the number of views, average rating and the final decision of Cisco’s panel of judges.
Your video will have to be of maximum 3 minutes long, of up to 150MB in size, and also you need to be at least 18 years old to participate.

The contest is open worldwide excepting Quebec, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Italy, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Sudan, according to the official rules.

Cisco launched this cool contest that allows you to show off your experience, to provide the best examples of how customer technology, used in innovative ways, is enhancing people’s lifestyles.
The company teamed up with 3 popular figures - Meghan Asha video tech blogger, the NBA star Shane Battier and Lincoln Schatz video artist – who’s videos can be watched here.

We like them all, but decided to post our favorite, of Lincoln Schatz, who uses an impressive system called The Cube to create unique and amazing videos.

The giveaway has ended! You may check the winner here.

In "The House That Geek Built", the guy said: "I'm a technologist living in California and my home is both a workplace and playground. I push the boundaries of technology and my creations reflect that, whether it's modified vacuums or alarm clocks, my creations improve my regular life."
