Purchasing a new cell phone from an online store located in China is a great idea if you want all possible functionalities in a single unit. They are very affordable, stylish and you can choose from hundreds of models available. The main disadvantage is that in case you encounter simple problems with the software and need a reinstall, you have to send the phone back to China and wait for it to be fixed. Shipping usually lasts about 10 days in one way, so you’ll probably need a backup phone for about 20 days, plus money for the shipping.

Chinese phones are the smartest and if you get one for, let’s say $170, you won’t cry after spending additional 50$ (maximum) for the return.
The problem is bigger if you use a Dual SIM smart phone, because in case you will have to send it back for a small repair, you’d need 2 backup cell phones during 20 days.

Almost all Chinese phones feature Dual SIM functionality, while in Europe or US you can find maybe 3 Dual SIM smart phone models existent on the market: Samsung D780 Duos, Samsung D880 Duos and Motorola Dual SIM.
The bad part is these models are prices at around $300, and in addition to Dual SIM they don’t provide other cool feature such as Live TV.

Anyway, if you really want to get a “branded” cell phone from Europe you might be interested in hearing that Samsung will release a new handset with Dual SIM, which looks very different than the other 2 models launched previously.
It is called Samsung S9502 Duos and, according to rumors, the Dual SIM smart phone should come out at about $1,000. The same rumors talk about a competition between the new Samsung Dual SIM phone and Nokia Arte or Motorola Aura luxury cell phones.
To be sincere, the design doesn’t attract me that much, maybe because the leaked pictures don’t reveal all the details in low resolution.

Samsung S9402 Duos Dual SIM smart phone is hand-crafted from high-quality, durable materials and covered in rhodium.
Features include a low-power consuming OLED display of 262K colors, a built-in 5MP digital camera with autofocus, EDGE support, Bluetooth, PC connectivity, microSD card slot, 1GB internal memory, but no 3G.
Same as the D880 Duos, Samsung S9402 Duos should be released first in Russia.
