You are accustomed to the desire most companies have when it comes to choosing the right moment (some would call it the perfect one), desire that has always something to do with major events such as the Consumer Electronics Show or the Mobile World Congress.
Panasonic, for example, thought that the best way to present their portable Blu-ray players was to bring them at the 2009 edition of CES, when it created sensation, just like the company expected. But it’s time for the device to become official. So, here we have fresh news about the availability and the price of the so-called DMP-B15.

Presented as the “world’s first portable Blu-ray playerâ€, the Panasonic DMP-B15 is a mixture of technologies that will allow the user to enjoy the ultimate high definition Blu-ray experience. It comes with a 8.9 inch WSVGA LCD screen, Viera Cast Internet accessibility, BD live functionality, a SD memory card support.
“As a pioneer in the development of DVD and Bluray expertise, Panasonic has always been at the forefront in developing cutting-edge, consumer friendly technology. […] and with the B15 we continue that tradition of being first to market with unique technologyâ€, said Richard Simone, who is the Director of Entertainment Group at Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
In addition, he said that: “The B15 is a unique and versatile High Definition player that gives the consumer the ultimate entertainment experience, whether traveling or in the home as either an additional Blu-ray player or the primary source for 1080p viewing.â€
There are three other Panasonic Blu-ray players and just like those, the DMP-B15 includes a functionality called Viera Cast, which enables the access of the user to all sorts of websites such as Amazon Video-on-Demand, YouTube, Google Picasa Web Album, Bloomberg and a channel that provides weather information.
The B15 is expected to start selling this month under a suggested retail price of $799.95.
