Navigon AG, a leading provider of navigation devices and software solutions, together with Nuance, the provider of speech solutions, have announced the launching of Navigon 8110 portable navigation device featuring Nuance’s advanced speech recognition technology.



Voice Recognition Pro allows the user to speak a complete target address consisting of city, street and house number, in a single voice command, using the Single Confirmation Address Entry capability, which prompts the user for only one confirmation after pushing one button on the touch-sensitive display.



"The new NAVIGON 8110 navigation devices combine an exclusive design with the very latest technology at an attractive price,” said Peter Scheufen, Chairman of the Board of Navigon AG. “It allows drivers to enter their destination verbally without touching any buttons. Speech recognition improves drivers' concentration in traffic and thereby offers additional safety."

The new GPS device is present at CeBIT 2008 where Nuance is demonstrating the new technology implemented.
