What could be a better occasion for launching the world’s first GPS locator for children than the Customer Electronics Show 2009? At this year’s edition of the tradeshow in Las Vegas, Lok8u is introducing the Nu.M8 designed to be worn by children on their wrists.

During January 8 and 11 you can visit CES and see the GPS locator for children in the North Hall at the stand number 5520.
From the brief press release we found out that the innovative gadget is easy to use and be worn by children, while parents have to simply text “wru” to Nu.M8 on the cell phone, or just click “where r you” on the Lok8u portal, in order to find the location, which is displayed on Google Maps.
Other things parents can do with the device are to set unique safe areas where their children can play, and receive cell phone alerts immediacy after the device is removed from the children’s wrists.
Nu.M8 GPS locator for children is water resistant at Ipx 7, keeps operating for up to 7 days in standby mode, is accurate within three meters and features metal reinforced rubber strap.

It is recommended for children between 3 and 12 years old, and will be available for purchase together with a minimum of £4.99 for the monthly subscription that includes the basic services.
