Kodak DVC323 camera
Posted by: Adina in digital cameras

The history of digital video cameras goes way behind in the first quarter of the 20th century. They differ a lot from their analogue predecessors, mainly because they do not use a film to capture their photos but, capture the photographs on digital memory cards and even on internal storage. They have come such a long way, as to include wireless systems and Bluetooth capabilities, systems that are mainly seen in mobile devices, such as phones, iPhones, iPod’s etc.
Kodak helped at the development of true digital cameras. Therefore, in the year 1991 he brought to the market its first camera – Kodak DCS 100. This was just the beginning of a long lien of professional cameras that the Kodak company specialized in. it then used a 1.3 megapixels camera and was priced at around $13,000. Anyhow, a rather big price for out times, and even bigger for those times.

The kodak dvc 323 digital video camera allows the Kidak products to enter into a completely different arena, that is into the field of the eye cameras. It is a very strong camera that makes the images become natural and has a high resolution. The computer eye system is a s well low cost and that is another advantage of creating these cameras. It is provided with a full 640*480 resolution and the progressive scan CCD comes with over 300,000 pixels of picture information. However, in the video mode, the resolution drops to as much as 320*240 pixels.
The kodak dvc 323 digital video camera is provided with an elegant and economical case, that fits one’s hand perfectly and that allows you to point it at anywhere you may want. It has attached a 3 meters cable that will not allow anyone to confound it with a portable gadget. The DVC 323 camera that comes from Kodak is available with a ¼ inch tripod, that gives it greater stability.
As it is not a camera made in order to be portable, there is no use to have any possibility of viewfinder. Therefore, the actual viewfinder of the kodak dvc 323 digital video camera is the computer it is connected to. The lens have a field of view of 42 degrees and the lens coverage area can be modified with the help of the “digital zoom” feature, which can enlarge as well as reduce. It is up to what one desires to do with the image. Anyhow, for the still pictures, the zoom does not have such a big importance, whereas for the video motion it can create very real magnification.

It uses an “electronic shutter” which signifies that it captures the image by controlling the signals that get all the way to the CCD sensor. The good white balance capacity, makes it available to illuminate from incandescent to fluorescent lighting and to still provide a good color balance under harsh conditions. It has just two controls buttons. With one you can signal the computer to take a picture and with the other one can adjust the focus. Therefore, it is a rather easy to use camera, as it comes with the PictureWorks Live Software to use.
It comes with no internal storage, thing that signifies that it will not need to have the pictures taken out from it. The pictures are directly out into the computer device memory and one can only see them there. One cannot say anything relating to the performance of the camera, as it is strictly related to the capacity of the computer it is connected with.
Even though it is not such an attractive gadget, for the low-cost computer eye category of digital cameras, it is one of the best in the domain. The biggest disadvantage of it is that it cannot be used in outdoor activities but just in indoors ones, as it is strictly connected to the computer, and it works just like this. Anyhow, it provides very good image quality photos, while using it indoors.
Rather than choosing a nameless camera that cannot provide you the same quality results, but that comes at the same price. One will better choose this one.
