Just like whenever someone needs a printer, the name HP will most certainly cross that certain someone’s mind, well, just like that, when you ask a person to give you a brand related to the photography area, chances are high for you to hear the name Kodak. It’s understandable, if you think about it, so this is one more reason for us to be happy when hearing about the company’s attempt to keep up with the digital era.

In the given context, we can only applaud the announcement that the Eastman Kodak company has just made, concerning the launch of a very innovative digital picture frame in European countries. The so-called Kodak EasyShare S730 Digital Picture Frame was designed in a way that gives the user the possibility to enjoy a better experience.

The novelty consists of the integrated rechargeable battery, which makes it a whole lot easier for the user to share it with friends and family, and of a new feature, called Picture Finder, which enables user to access images and videos much more easily.

The full list of features of the new Kodak Digital Photo Frames includes: the rechargeable battery with a capacity of one hour, an internal memory of 1GB (enough for storing up approximately 8000 pictures), the Kodak Color Science technology, a mercury-free LCD panel, the Quick Touch Border, which is updated, being equipped with touch sensitive controls and a motion sensor that bring the controls to life whenever the hand of the user approaches the frame, plug-and-play operation, mode button (gives the user the chance to choose from the viewing modes), the dynamic collage mode, the Kodak EasyShare Digital Display Software, for the synchronization with the pictures stored on the computer. The frame is also able to play videos and add the songs the user loves most to slideshows.

“The new S730 Digital Picture Frame offers exciting new ways to interact with your picture collection”, said Phil Scott, the Worldwide Director of Marketing, Digital Capture and Devices and Vice President, Consumer Digital Group. “Kodak digital frames have long led the way in enabling consumers to enjoy and show off their pictures and videos without being tied to their computers. The battery-power of the S730 goes further, allowing users to ‘unplug and share’, putting the frame in people’s hands so everyone can enjoy treasured picture collections and browse through pictures as they would with a photo album.”

As I mentioned earlier, the Kodak digital photo frame is expected to become available in Europe for a price of $149, starting this month. As for the United States and Canada, the frame will start selling in September, for $139.00.
