After releasing the new iPod Shuffle which is meant to replace the old iPod Shuffle, being the “world’s smallest music player”, Apple decided to release the iTunes update. The 8.1 version is already available and you can have it from the iTunes download page.

The digital media player application is said to be a whole lot faster and more responsive. In addition, the user is promised to enjoy significant improvements in those situations when he has to work with vast libraries, to browse the iTunes Store, when he has to sync with iPod or iPhone and to optimize photos in order to sync them.



Now, the iTunes update brings some impressive improvements and big fixes in the spotlight, such as: it supports the synchronization with the third generation of iPod Shuffle, it allows friends to ask for the songs they like for iTunes DJ, it adds the Genius sidebar, which can be used for Movies and TV Shows, the performance for download the iTunes Plus songs, it provides AutoFill for those iPod that are manually managed, the CDs can be imported at the same sound quality as iTunes Plus, the access is easier and the iTunes U and the iTunes Store can be disabled separately through Parental Controls.
