iRiver waterproof MP3 player

There was a period (long time ago, of course) when gadgets that we are all very familiar with today weren’t available in the market. Many of them weren’t even invented, even if courageous people dared to think about them, to conceive them and tried to find a solution in order to make them see the light of the day.

Waterproof MP3 players aren’t here, in this world I mean, forever. I can bet all my money on the fact that many of our readers have dreamed with eyes wide open at the first waterproof MP3 player to help them enjoy the music experience underwater. Today, such devices don’t impress customers very much.
However, iRiver is interested in launching a waterproof music device, so it came up with the LZR Aquabeat Racer, which is the result of their collaboration with Speedo, a very well known swimwear manufacturer.
From what you can see in the picture above, it’s obvious that the Aquabeat Racer affixes to the head. Unfortunately, it isn’t wireless, as you many of you would have expected.

The device is waterproof, as I said, but you should be careful with it, because it is resistant to depths of no more than ten feet, which means that you’d better leave it at home when you’re planning to go scuba-diving. Therefore, you can carelessly use it in the pool, as long as you don’t feel like diving in from the diving board. I’m not sure how the LZR would stay fixed to your head after a jump like this.

The iRiver waterproof MP3 player comes with an internal memory of 2GB, which is quite enough, but the main disadvantage consists of the battery life which is a little bit disappointing. When fully charged, it provides only 30 minutes of playback.

Therefore, for all the music addicts out there who love swimming more than anything (anything except listening to music, of course), the LZR Aquabeat Racer is $145, but you can only find it in Japan.
