One of the most "famous" gadgets of the moment, the iPhone, has generated a lot of "heat" among phone lovers and a very big controversy. If you're American with some extra cash it's like you just have to own one. It does have an outstanding design, by all standards in mobile phone fashion, and the obvious reason  why someone would buy such a phone is clearly to show off and nothing else as the gadget itself isn't so smart and it doesn't even offer as much as the phones from other already famous mobile phone brands. The crazed fans of anything Apple is willing to come up with and sell have even waited days in a row literally to be the among the first people to own an iPhone - and that tells us a lot about the society we're living in and the mentality of some people.

Only this thought of being so desperate and unhappy at the same time that the phone cannot be used in other networks as well, created a wave of frustration among Apple fan communities and this is what gave birth to the "unlocking solutions", that popped up all over the Internet very soon after the activation process has been discovered. At the moment, there are four online retailers that hold even the licence for the unlocking software: the Wireless Imports (US), iPhoneWorldWideUnlock (Australia), 1digitalphone (Germany) and iPhone4arab (Saudi Arabia) - the prices for one unlocking range from $50 to $100.

What's to be noticed is that an unlocked phone can run on any GSM Network, but certain special features from the device may only be available on the AT&T service, such as the visual voice mail.
