Illusion PC

This capability is meant to give the user the freedom to change the personal computer’s look to match his/her personality, lifestyle and home décor.
According to the designer’s short description, the Illusion PC would look like a beautiful box or something similar when turned off and you couldn’t tell that it is a computer.

Personally, I wouldn’t keep for the décor something that looks like the grandma’s trunk but let’s face that it brings something new in design, is very small and matches the description of a “unique boutique computer”.

It is meant to fit Home Theater environments, on your desk, and would change its theme if you choose from different pre-rendered options.
The targeted market sector is people that like changes and get bored relatively-quick, giving them the possibility to set themes like movie, sports team, musical group, automotive, or to customize just the colors.

Illusion PC would measure 8.25 inches integrating a Mini-ITX main board, 200W mini-PSU, a notebook slot load DVD-RW, up two desktop-like hard drives, an optional 6-inch TFT LCD display, Matrix Orbital MX222 2x16 character VFD screen, a TV tuner, with peripherals such as wireless keyboard and an LG Air-like mouse.

In the pictures you can distinguish the 3D floating cube illusion and no internal parts are visible, and in the other pictures you have the HellRaiser movie theme chosen by the designer, who says he had already built a prototype as proof of concept to demonstrate the possibility to use the hardware attachment directly to the internal housing built of aluminum and acting as a wick of heat.
On top are the ventilation holes and the bottom is also ventilated.
The designer also specifies that if the user prefers he/she can customize this illusion to create even a floating spaceship or Star Wars character with cut vinyl decal movie logos on the case.

We’re curious to know where we could see the Illusion PC in action and until then we’d like you to leave us a line about this design concept and subscribe to our news feeds via "Get email delivery" (from the side bar) to read about the next PC design concept that will be even more spectacular.
