How Long Do AA Batteries Last?
Posted by: Sierra Monica B. in Gadgets

It is known that AA batteries offer longer operating time to electronic gadgets than AAA models, and you can recognize them after the size of 51 mm in length and about 13.5 mm in diameter. When used in electronic gaming devices, non-rechargeable AA batteries are said to last minimum 6 hours, but let’s take my example. Yesterday I was shooting pictures on the go, half an hour with the Burst mode on and about 10 minutes using with the Flash, as it was getting dark. I believe that I took a total of 40 pictures at 3 megapixels resolution until they discharged. My batteries are Samsung Pleomax LR6 AA 1.5V, so it doesn’t matter the time, but the number of pictures you take and if you use the Flash.
Anyway, I have some good news for you all in searching for the answer to the question “How Long Do AA Batteries Last?â€
Earlier this month, Panasonic introduced EVOLTA, which is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest lasting AA alkaline battery. The name comes from Evolution and Voltage to symbolize great power, and was designed for use in digital cameras, remote-control cars, drain remote controls, portable radios and MP3 players.
The new performance level of the AA battery involves a larger internal space for a chemical reaction enabled by new active materials such as manganese dioxide and oxy-hydroxide titanium for the cathode, and zinc for the anode.
With the new technologies, the EVOLTA AA alkaline battery allows you to take up to 272 pictures with a digital camera, translating into 30% more compared to the previous powerful Panasonic battery. Also, you can use an FM radio for up to 14 hours longer, while a remote-controlled car travels 8.7 miles farther.
Another example is the 6.7-inch tall Mr. EVOLTA mini robot designed by Tomotake Takahashi, which climbed a 1,740-foot rope in 6 hours and 46 minutes, powered by 2 AA EVOLTA batteries.
Panasonic brings the world’s longest lasting AA battery this month in stores, in 4- and 8-packs at $4.99 and $8.99 respectively.
