Harmony 1100 Award Winning Logitech Remote Control
Posted by: Sierra Monica B. in CES 2009, Gadgets

Logitech Harmony 1100 is a stylish remote control for your home entertainment system introduced at the Customer Electronics Show 2009.
It provides a customizable touch-sensitive interface that’s very easy to use via the 3.5-inch QVGA color display, and is also rechargeable.

Thanks to these characteristics, the new Logitech remote control received the CES 2009 Design and Engineering Award: Best of Innovations in the Home-Entertainment Accessories category for the second consecutive year.
Logitech Harmony 1100 is small and allows you to customize your favorite commands for each function you use, including watching movies and listening to the music. More than that, it works wirelessly based on the RF technology that connects to the entertainment system though the walls but within the 100-feet range.
The setup process is easy thanks to the smart guide enabled by the pre-loaded software.
The Logitech remote control supports over 225,000 devices from 5,000 manufacturers. You may check if yours are included on the list by accessing Logitech’s online database.
Its price is high enough to match its number of capabilities, reaching $499.99, and you’ll find the remote in the US and European stores starting next month.

“The Harmony 1100 is a natural extension of the Harmony promise – to simplify today’s complex home-entertainment systems,†said Ashish Arora, vice president and general manager of Logitech’s Harmony business unit. “As more and more people get the bulk of their entertainment at home, the Harmony 1100 will help people get more out of their home-entertainment experience – for a fraction of the price of traditional custom-installed remotes.â€
