HALLCD TV

As I’m a Sci-Fi fan, my heart jumped with joy when I saw this cool LCD TV. Sure, it might not be the biggest, nor the most advanced display ever seen, but it makes me pretty nostalgic.

I guess you already noticed that the LCD looks similar to the HAL computer from the 2001: A Space Odissey, directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1968. In fact, Chauhan Studio even named it HALLCD TV. The display was recently showcased at Milan Design Week, and the guys from Moco Loco happened to be there to take some pics of the white wonder.

The screen features a nice organic shape and the retrofuturistic design seems to be more retro than futuristic, because the designers forgot about HDMI/DVI connections from the looks of things on that back panel. No other additional specs were revealed, all we know is the display is still in concept phase and the back panel could radically change as soon as they add all the goodies. Hopefully, the designers will do everything they can to provide all the latest technologies. HAL was very intelligent in the film, so I think the designers should honor this fact and add the latest advancements in display technology.
