Archbishop Computer

Richard Nagy aka Datamancer announced a new computer with a meticulous design inspired from the Gothic artwork elements. It is called the Archbishop Computer and looks amazing!
The designer chose an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ processor clocked at 2.6 GHz, ASUS M2A-VM mainboard, 2GB DDR2 memory upgradeable up to 8GB, and added 250GB S-ATA HDD storage, a DVD burner, the NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS with 512MB memory, the ALC883 High Definition Audio Codec, Ethernet connectivity, and a 420W power supply. He installed the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system with Microsoft Office 2007 suite 60-day trial.

Characteristics of the first integrated VGA mainboard with HD DVD and Blu-ray playback support include Dual-VGA output, SurroundView, AMD 690G Chipset, ATI Radeon X1250 graphics, PCI Express architecture, and 4 x SATA 3Gb/s RAID 0,RAID 1, RAID10. The graphics card supports DirectX 10 and high definition playback.
Richard encased all these in a case sporting Morisco-patterned glass, brass embellishments, hinged lid for access to the drives and hardware, and cool red lighting. He built this complete PC in detail and optimized it for gaming.

The impressive LCD monitor is large measuring 20 inches in diagonal and is LG-branded, but Datamancer added a scratch-built Gothic arch with quatrefoil designs and stained-glass doors. Next there is a cool keyboard featuring a wooden faceplate to match the lighter wood inside the LCD arch, and Gothic-themed mouse as well.
“I wanted my lighting to be as subtle and ambient as possible so I added these C-shaped brass pieces around each CCFL bulb to act as both reflectors and blinders,†describes Datamancer. “The polished surface of the brass directs the light back into the case while the small "walls" block the bulb from being directly visible through the glass when you look at the Archbishop from different angles.â€
The back of the PC looks like the mesh used in confessionals by catholic priests, while the pointer device comes from an old book having a Wacom tablet inside, for use with a pen or mouse.

If you are in New York during August 16-24 you should go at the Hamptons Antique Galleries to catch the Steampunk art show which will include the Gothic artwork Archbishop Computer. The PC will be available for sale at the show and on eBay later this year. In addition to Datamancer’s showcase there will be present other creations from talented designers.
Richard unveiled new ergonomic keyboard designs that will be launched soon, and in the mean time you might want to check the Datamancer Steampunk PC featured in our previous article.
