Google Web Accelerator 0.2.93.116
Posted by: Sierra Monica B. in Software

Google invites us to use Google Web Accelerator 0.2.93.116, Google Lab’s product, which is meant to speed up downloading of web pages, using the power of Google's global computer network.
It’s an easy to use application which requires only downloading and installation but it is intended only for broadband connections at the moment.
How does Google Web Accelerator accomplish this?
It starts by sending the page requests through Google machines dedicated to handling Google Web Accelerator traffic and stores copies of frequently looked at pages in order to make them quickly accessible.
It then downloads only the updates of a page which has changed slightly since the last viewing, and prefetches certain pages onto your computer in advance.
By managing the Internet connection, it reduces delays.
It uses data compression before sending it to your computer.
