Google Knol to Compete with Wikipedia
Published by Sierra Monica B., on Dec 17 2007, in the categories: News
Knol is a new service announced by Google that will surely compete with Wikipedia because of its specific.
Knol (from “knowledgeâ€) will be an online encyclopedia where all of you would be able to create a little part of it, by uploading articles and explanations.
The interesting part is that while Wikipedia is a non-profit website, Knol will be exactly the opposite.

It will allow editors to place Adsense advertisers on their content and Google will share the revenue with them.
At first, Google won’t verify the content introduced on Knol and so, as the company announced, everybody is free to publish whatever he/she wants.
We won’t know if the information is accurate or not and this will be a problem.
The good and interesting part is that Knol offers visitors the possibility to leave reviews and comments for each article, and so there will be a ranking of the results on Google.
Knol is still in tests and we can’t wait to hear news about it soon.
