This is the first Lenovo-branded cell phone using the Atrua fingerprint biometric security to protect the data stored in it.
"We evaluated a number of potential fingerprint solutions for this project, and found that Atrua delivered the superior combination of features and performance for mobile phones," stated Paul Wu, General Manager of Lenovo Mobile's Product Department.

Atrua Technologies is a top provider of Intelligent Touch Control solutions to mobile devices, which include fingerprint scanner touch controls and the more advanced VSense micro pressure touch controls. Among its customers we enumerate Toshiba, Sharp, Lenovo, Kyocera, Sagem/Porsche Design, Ningbo Bird and CECT, the company that provides the cool cell phone with Swarovski precious stones we wrote about recently.

VSense technology is characterized by low production costs, small form factor, durability, reliability, continuous 360 degree cursor control, variable rate capability, low power consumption, digital wake up capability, simple design and simple electrical interface.

Atrua’s biometric technology is based on adaptive capacitance and neural matching, being capable to distinguish the user’s fingerprints without using much power, processor and memory resources.
This technology is common for laptop computers and recently introduced in cell phones too, via special touch controls, and in case the device is stolen, no one can break this unique security layer consisting of an image with the user’s specific fingerprints.

It’s the best solution of the moment because it doesn’t require you to memorize codes than can be easily broken.
Besides this feature, Lenovo P960 bar phone uses the VIP application that can be set to record calls automatically.

"We are pleased to see a recognized leader in fingerprint for laptops adopt our technology for their mobile phone and we are delighted to have the opportunity to support such a leading global manufacturer in their ongoing effort to bring greater levels of security and convenience to users of mobile devices," commented Anthony Gioeli, CEO of Atrua.
