Europe: Thousands of People Waiting in Line for the Famous iPhone
Published by Sierra Monica B., on Nov 13 2007, in the categories: mobile phones

I have been reading lots of opinions about the unique device from Apple and I’ve seen that many are criticizing it while others, not so many, are it’s truly fans.
Now that iPhone came in Europe too, more exactly in UK and Germany through T-Mobile carrier, the facts are showing actually that people are crazy about this phone and can wait in line in front of the stores for tens of hours, just to be sure they will put their hands on this gadget.
In Germany, 700 stores are offering the iPhone through T-Mobile and in the first hours they’ve sold out approximately 10,000 units.
On the other hand, in UK, the 1,300 stores that have the iPhone are selling it through the O2 phone carrier.
These stores didn’t want to make public yet, the number of already sold units.
Now the bad part.
What took a quarter of the smile from the enthusiast buyers faces were the prices at which the iPhone is available.
In Germany it is sold for $587, but people have to add the costs of the contract signed with the carrier.
In UK it is a bit cheaper, $566 for the 8GB model.
As in US everything is much cheaper than in Europe, there the iPhone suffered a price reduction with $200, reaching $399, compensating this way those that bought the phone at its initial cost.
On November 29, France will have the pleasure to welcome the iPhone on its territory and we are all curious about the sales.
The phone carrier through which French people will be able to buy the phone is Orange.
In 2008, Asia will be the next target continent.
The Apple company expects to sell next year, more than 10 million iPhones.
