Barista Espresso Machine
Posted by: Bogdan Alex in News

I haven’t seen much improvement with coffee-making machines in the past years and I think the technology has reached a point where it doesn’t need to be improved. Anyway, Patrik Pettersson thinks that there still are things that can be further tweaked in espresso machines. That’s why he came up with a concept for the well-known company Electrolux, which might be commercialized soon enough.
YankoDesign informs us that Pettersson’s machine is dubbed Barista and has two modes. While in Docking mode, the espresso machine consists of a docking station, brewing unit and five espresso cups. The main advantage of the Barista is that it allows multiple users to be in charge of their own espresso brewing, instead of just only one person as with the case of conventional machines. The docked Barista has to be connected to the wall outlet and works similar to a conventional machine where beans are grounded for each individual cup in the kitchen. Furthermore, the Barista collapsed for easy transportation.
When you put the Barista in Portable mode, some tasks are divided up to optimize the power consumption. Thus, the coffee beans get pre-grounded in the kitchen and the water is pre-heated into a thermos at the same time to eliminate unnecessary energy consumption. To collapse the brew unit, all you need to do is press down the top part. If you’re ready to use it again, just give the handle a push and the machine will rise by itself to its basic brewing state. The turning top allows the users to access the machine from all directions. Place cups on the tray and rotate the turning top part to move the nozzle over to the other cups.
