At SID 2008 in US, one of the companies that are demonstrating innovative display technologies is E Ink, flexible display manufacturer. It will present its new E Ink Vizplex Imaging Film featuring fast screen response and flexibility.E Ink Gadgets

"This year eBooks grew dramatically while E Ink also broadened its range into new markets. We are showcasing six electronic readers plus products ranging from smartcards to watches and even key fobs as we put E Ink on every smart surface," said Russ Wilcox, President and CEO of E Ink. "You will also see new controller electronics for fast menus, pen input and typing; and a new plastic segmented display that is less than 0.4 millimeters thick. Compared to last year, it is striking to see the increased number and quality of flexible active matrix displays from E Ink's partners across the show."

The new E Ink controller developed together with Epson features animations, fast menus, typing, tablet screen size and increased gray scales, being integrated with one of the Wacom’s touch tablets and working with ePen input.
Companies will have the chance to obtain new electrophoretic displays to benefit from lower power, paper-thinness, sunlight readability, ruggedization and low EMI.
