CES 2008 hosts the demonstration of the first HDTV technology that enables 3D viewing with the ability to display 2 different image sources simultaneously on a DLP HDTV screen.
The innovative DualView technology is meant for 2-player gaming experiences and provides full screen view for each gamer.

Id Software, famous for FPS games such as Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein has tested DualView and was amazed by DLP’s technology.
The 3D DLP HDTVs support the new technology and are capable of displaying 2 content sources like DVD movies, games or TV shows.
In order to use this technology, you have to connect the DLP HDTV to the compatible source and wear DualWiew glasses, and two good DLP HDTV options at the moment are models from Samsung and Mitsubishi, which are now shipping with 3D ready DualView capability.
To obtain a perfect image quality with DualView DLP coordinates the chip’s extremely fast 8 microseconds switching speed with high-contrast shutter glass operation.
The eye-wear controller synchronizes the glasses' shutters by decoding a proprietary signal embedded in the DLP image stream, this resulting in independent views for each gamer, and a more exciting gaming experience.
Unfortunately, if you opt for this technology, you will play games using 2 consoles or personal computers, because at the moment, DLP is teaming up with different game developers to integrate a driver to enable a single console support in the near future.
