Digi-Mug versus the “family†of cool new gadgets
Posted by: Maria Mihale in Gadgets

I can completely understand the fact that people have a whole lot more inspiration and imagination than their daily activities would require, but this doesn’t mean that the excess should all be exploited, in one way or the other. Sometimes, it’s better for the brain to rest for a while and to be given the chance to “recoverâ€.
The uninterrupted scientific work of the humanity leads to unexpected consequences. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, ‘cause, after all, this is what we should do in a lifetime: evolve. But come on! There are all sorts of wacky devices available out there, that people wouldn’t use in a million years, even if they were paid to do this. The point is that technology pokes its nose into everything, if I may say so.

And this is how we get to see something like the Digi-Mug. Ok, stormy applause for the brilliant mind who came up with this invention, but not because I’m excited with it. The reason why the designer should be appreciated is the interest he/she shows as far as important things are concerned.
Now, I’m not sure how you, people, imagine a digital photo frame, for example, but I wouldn’t have imagined it in combination with a coffee mug. Because this is what the Digi-Mug is: a mixture between a digital photo frame and a mug. If you think about, the wacky gadget consists of… two mugs, if I may say so.
The frame has a 1.5 inch display and is provided with support for BMP and JPG images. In addition, there is an optional backlight. A mysterious aspect refers to the way you get the pictures to be displayed on the Digi-Mug, because there is no information in this respect. I suppose a USB cable is involved. The device comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and has an internal memory of 1MB, enough to store up to 50 photos.
This weird gadget is useless, if you ask me, not to mention dangerous, if you think about the fact that the coffee mug needs to be washed every once in a while. And for god’s sake, you don’t wash electronics. It has nothing to do with the cool new gadgets that are not only cool, but also functional and wise.
