With the occasion of the 10th anniversary Dell launches the Precision M6300 notebook that replaces the Precision M90 model.

Precision M6300 comes in magnesium alloy housing, featuring a 17" "Road Ready" chassis design, weighting 8.5 pounds.
The screen resolution will be M6300 in WXGA+ (1440x900) and WUXGA (1920x1200) with TrueLife or anti-glare screen coatings.
LED backlighting’s availability is expected at a later date.

The design is for the business segment therefore it incorporates an Intel Core 2 Duo X7900 Processor with 2.8 GHz and an Nvidia Quadro FX 1600M video card with 512MB of TurboCache, 256MB dedicated.
It supports up to 4 GB DDR2 memory and a hard-disk of 200 GB with 7200Rpm spindle speed or 120 GB encrypted, disk being optional.
The optical units will be a Blue-Ray 2x DVD-RW, an 8x DVD+/-RW and an 8x DVD.
The 9-cell battery will keep the notebook working for up to 4 hours.

Other features include wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, six USB 2.0 ports, DVI, VGA,S-video, FireWire, 5 in 1 media reader, Express Card Slot and an optional UPEK fingerprint reader.

For Precision M3600 Dell will offer Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Ultimate in 32-bit and 64-bit, Windows XP, or RedHat Linux 5.1 in October.

Vivek Mohindra, Dell Product Group VP recommends this notebook because "Customers buy workstations because they need maximum performance to get a job done” and "The M6300 is ideal for customers who want to run demanding professional applications no matter where they are."
