A gun is a firing projectile that is actually a weapon. There are many kinds of guns such as firearms or small guns like pistols or rifles. The generic term ,,gun’’ was used to name artillery tubes and sea-based naval cannon. This weapon has a tubular barrel and a hollow. The directing of the projectile is made by the tubular barrel. The term ,,gun’ is also referring to grease gun , glue gun, staple gun, nail gun. Guns are divided by the means of firing, by the type of barrel, the caliber and the purpose of the weapon. Rifled is a type of barrel which has angles in it and spiraled grooves. You can  identify guns variations  by the projectile size and barrel diameter. The bullet has an explosive shell. Explosive liquid, explosive solid or even air may be the propellant. The word ,,cannon’’ replaces the ford ,,gun’’ and it is a word that come from the French language. Back in time, firing a gun was seen as black art because of the sulfur smell and flash.

In military use, guns were called the weapons that fired directly. The word cannon doesn’t refer to the weapon system but to the actual gun tube and the name gunner is used for members that fire the gun. As the name implies, autocannons are automatic guns that are mounted on a vehicle and fire shells. Machine guns are almost the same .Gun type fission weapon is a nuclear weapon  while captive bolt gun is used to slaughter animals. For hunting, shotguns are normally used.

When you handle firearms, you have to know the recommendations and rules that can be applied, in order the risks to be minimized or eliminated. Risks such as injury or unintentional death can be caused by handling the firearms  not in  an improper way. Firearms are dangerous and they have to be handled with care. You should take the finger off the trigger and point the weapon at the ground. The best way to be safe is to think that your gun is always loaded, in this way you will be more careful with it.

Here are some other ways in which guns can be detrimental to bystanders or handlers: the noise is one of them. I’ sure you have all seen in movies when actors are learning how to shoot, they have headsets. Tinnitus is a permanent or temporary hearing damage so in order to prevent this you have to use hearing protection.



A gun emits powder and gases that can do harm. The toxic effects are now diminished. The risk of exposure is also diminished if you wash your hand properly after you use a gun , clean and ventilate the space. Although are made to function well, malfunction can also happen.:  hang-fires -delayed discharge., duds- failures to discharge and squibs- insufficient discharge. ,,Jam’’ refers to mechanical malfunctions and include eject or extract a cartridge, failure to fully cycle after firing.

People always made a connections between guns and violence. But guns are not always bad. You can defend yourself with a gun if you feel you are in danger. This is a legal act but if you use guns to harm someone it’s illegal.

-Pistole Parabellum 1908 also called Luger. In both War Wars this gun was used by Germans. After that,  they were collected as trophies.

-Walther PR and PPK is a semi-automatic double action gun and the first one was released in 1929.

-Colt M1911 has a successful design used by United States Army. Now you can still see it in video games and movies.

-Glock Pistol was created in 1982 and it is a semi-automatic gun. It is the gun that became ideal for FBI, police.

-  Colt Python is one of the most popular revolver.

-CZ75 was created by Czech and made of high quality steel.

-you can still find Mause C96 which is made even today.

Here are some benefits of cool guns: when  someone kills another one just to save the victims, several lives are spared.These  aspects demonstrates that there are more aggravated assault, rapes and less murders. Children are more likely to die from accidents, burn or drowning than from gun accidents.



The person who will be held responsible is, of course, the one who was behind the trigger. People should take responsibility for their actions so if they want to have a gun they also have to make a liability insurance, they will cover the loses in case they harm someone with the gun.

The bad part is that 5 percent of home homicide are committed with the gun that was held in the house. Even know we can’t still decide whether is a good or bad thing to own a gun. Although it is appealing to me the idea of a world without guns, the number of people who want guns is increasing. We can’t decide and in fact we don’t have to decide if it’s a bad or a good think to have a  gun. We just have to think under what conditions someone could own a gun. The question is ,,do we really have the right to own guns?’’ Many think that we have not only the moral right  but also the Constitutional one in order to own a gun. If they are correct that is left for us to judge. Meanwhile, we have to live with guns around us, and that’s a fact.
