Cool Design To Put On A Model Plane

In the future you will be able to design your plane. Because of the many flights of airports passengers feel that the traffic is unbearable. A ground transportation system was also design for planes as well as for cars. Now than ever before, many people are travelling  by plane and that is the reason why we have to improve the air transportation system. The first thing you have to know when trying to design a plane, is how plane fly. There are 4 forces of flight that make it happen. There are also different kinds of engines to choose from. How much fuel it uses or how well it flies, it depends on the shape of your aircraft. We have to learn about the materials, aerodynamics and structure. You can determine how much lift you need to make the aircraft go down, up or hover, by the sizes and number of the rotors of your aircraft .

A well designed aircraft must not increase ground traffic, must have the perfect size, must be able to fly far away, be cheap, carry people and of course to be able to fly. Before the aircraft is built, the designs can be tested .

Here are some aircraft paper designs:

-         dragon plane that has wings completely level
-         the Edmonton shadow  took me three hours to built it
-         the Swallow
-         Trapezium Paper airplane has a heavy nose that has an unusual but effective design. If it will hit a wall it won’t get damaged.
-         Chris’ Paper Plane
-         Nose Heavy Plane
-         Napkin Paper Airplane is an unusual plane but with a simple design
-         Cobra Paper airplane will fly fast and straight and also glide. I’m sure that you will have all the skills required to fold it.
-         Origami Paper airplane/Dart it can be confused with a dart because it flies far.
-         The Lighting
-         Sabertooth paper airplane

Model aircrafts are non-flying or flying models of imaginary and existing aircraft. In full size or down version of planes using materials such as: balsa wood, polystyrene, fibreglass and foam. Designs range from accurate scale models to simple glider aircraft, some of them can be very large. Models can be built either as flying models or non-flying models. These models differ very much .

The aircrafts that are not intended to fly are called static aircrafts. They are built using wood, plastic, paper or metal. Models that are already painted and built can be bought. Increasingly popular have become the snap models that need a minimal construction. These planes are a form of publicity. Injection molded polystyrene is the most common form of manufacture for kits using carbon steel molds. Today this takes place in Taiwan, China, South Korea, Philippines and Eastern Europe. A high degree of precision is allowed by the injection molding. It also can be done by using cast copper molds and cast resin molds .

There are 3groups for flying models:

-free flight has no attachments to the ground
-control line that uses cables leading from the pilot to the wing.
- Radio-controlled aircraft is sending signals to a receiver in the craft.

Here is a cool design to put on a model plane that was designed by Ted Evans with an unusual look and had a great success  from 1947-1950. The static models are totally different to built than flying models. Flying models rarely use metal structure .For the fuselage is used the construction techniques of using longerons and formers and for the wings, ribs and spars .

I will show you know to put a cool design on a model plane. Let’s say we already have a basic design . The nose moment is 11’’, the fuselage length is 45’’ and the tail moment is 18’’.The vertical stabilizer is 7’’ and the horizontal stabilizer is 21’’ X 7’’.We still need to consider the area of the ailerons, elevators and rudder .

We will add some ailerons on the design of the wing. There are 2 types of ailerons: strip ailerons and barn door. Both having disadvantages and advantages Strip ailerons are easy to hook up and install while the barn door looks cool. Strip ailerons require short control rods whereas barn door needs more setups. In the end the choice is in the hands of the designer but I recommend strip ailerons because are more simple .

Aircrafts have a great importance nowadays, they are indispensable. You can travel all over the world, present ads, help people in need in due time. Although not all of us had the chance to fly and are still afraid of the unknown, aircrafts are considered to be safer than any other means of transportation. It is resistant through bad weather, strong and quite easy to fabricate. It is also not so expensive to travel by plane and it is quicker .

Comfort and safety are 2 important issues of our society. It is very difficult to have control over when the airplane is in the air, bad things can occur and are out of your hands. When you take a trip you should think first of  safety and comfort and decide what is best for you. Every means of transportation has disadvantages and advantages.  Being up there through the clouds will give you a great feeling,  a feeling of freedom, of getting close to what is true to us –the  miracles of nature .
