A skill that involves practical arts is called a craft . Within the decorative arts, the term is used to describe artistic practices with the use of metal work, pottery, wood turning, weaving, glass blowing, wood working and glass art . The organized  event that displays the craft is called a craft fair. There are also stores that sell this kinds of products .

Imagination is like a factory that doesn’t pollute instead it has a benefic role in making art by creative ways . The activities and lessons include painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, marbling, paper-mache .

As a mother of children, you learn to do crafts with your children . Crafts affect children in a positive way: encourages self-discipline, builds positive self image, promotes eye-hand coordination, rewards hard work and diligence, fosters cooperation with others, cultivates love of learning and encourages their imagination . As parents we do whatever it takes to give the children the best life we can . I used to think that crafts are boring and a pain in the neck. I thought it was hard to organize, messy and not worth the effort. Craft also improves the relationship between brothers or sisters: they argue less, discipline became easier, play together better .

Here are some of the cool craft ideas for children : holidays crafts, birthday parties crafts. Some activities can last for days while others are ready in ten or fifteen minutes. Kids love the idea of getting messy, while for me is a nightmare . Children have different points of view so try not to have expectations. All kids crafts are easy and quick, require minimal materials and equipment.

All you need are inexpensive supplies such as : tempera, paper, pipe cleaners, markers, crayons, colored pencils, watercolors, craft foam sheets, glue and scissors. During the creation of crafts, parental supervision is recommended. Make a colorful and fun valentine hanging . A paper streamer, a little paint and construction paper and you will have a festival hanging .



You need: pieces of white poster cardstock or board, one sheet pink  construction paper, yarn, crepe paper in festive colors, acrylic paints, crayons, tape, scissors and a paintbrush . The child has to make a fist with the help of his both hands. The pinky finger and the side of the hand below will be painted . To form the  left side of the heart, press the poster board and do the same with the right hand to make the other half of the heart . You can repeat the procedures by using different colors . After the paint dries, use the frame boarder which will be the construction paper . Don’t forget to leave space to write names and hearts . In order to hang down from the bottom of the sheet, turn paper over and tape the crepe paper strips to the back of the paper . In order to attach the yarn hanger to the back, use tape and help yourself with scissors if needed . Then you can proudly hand it on the wall !

Here are some tips: you can use construction paper if you don’t have cardstock, construction paper should be bought  in a large variety of packs .

Another cool graft ideas for children is to make valentine hat . When you move your head, this craft foam valentine hat wiggles . You can create the same hat for St. Patrick’s Day with four leaf clover and green foam .



Here is what you need for the valentine hat: red chenille stems, red craft foam , pen, wire cutters , hot glue gun, scissors, ruler, white poster board and to fasten the hat together you need tape , stapler , glue .

This is how to make it: from the red foam cut 4 hearts, 2 bigger and 2 smaller . The poster board needs to fit the child’s head so try the band on the head to see if it fits. Using the wire cutters, cut the red chenille stems. Where the poster board is market , glue the stems of the outside part . On the chenille stems that are attached to the poster board, glue a small heart over each of them. At the other end of the chenille stem, glue a large red heart . Children can decorate with stickers , lace , crayons and markers . In order to obtain a heart shape , you can use a cookie cutter . Let the tacky glue overnight before wearing .



Chinese New Year Welcome Door Hanger is another great craft . You need: gold glitter glue, red foam door hanger, white craft glue , gold glitter glue and a pattern. Print on the pattern the word ,,Welcome’’ with gold glitter glue, with Chinese letters. Gold symbolizes wealth . You can decorate as you like the rest of the door hanger. Glue the orange circles onto the lower half of the door hanger, after the glitter glue dries. You can decorate with tangerine circles that symbolize good luck .
