A designer needs to be gifted with lots of imagination in addition to talent, in order to create innovative products, but Alice Wang from Taiwan seems to have the third key element that leads her work to success. With an intelligent sense of humor and knowledge gathered during courses at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art.
While browsing through her illustrated ideas i realized that she is looking to find the best answers to the question “What if ...?” related to social trends including other possible approach of todays technologies used in those devices people get in contact with every day.

For example, if we take a look at tyrant, we see a normal desk alarm clock with digital technologies. Alive Wang thought in changing the standard alarm function into something funnier. What if this alarm clock, instead of ringing loud to wake you up in the morning, could be set to connect to your cell phone’s contacts list and start to call people randomly every three minutes?

Perfect Sleep is a good replacement for an alarm clock because you can set how long you need to sleep, so it won’t wake you up at a specific hour, but after the amount of time you set.

And what do you say about this scale entitled White Lies, which have the small display that shows your weight, with in front of the device, where you can’t see it. You should ask someone else to look at it and tell you the numbers while you are standing on it, and the other person can lie you nicely. As you gradually move closer to the center you get closer to the reality, and if it’s too much to stand, than you could go back to become lighter.

And what if the real weight could be sent to your boyfriend’s cell phone wirelessly via a text message?

All headphones on the market exist to allow you to listen audio without disturbing the others around, but what if there would be a double-sized headphone available, which would play your favorite songs inwards and the ones loved by everyone, outwards, simultaneously? This means that you could enjoy listening what you like, while the other people around you could listen to popular tracks famous in clubs.

Alice Wang likes also the idea of a cell phone that could be enabled to display false text messages alerts to make the other around think you are cool and popular, or just to give you a chance to escape from a boring meeting.

At work you’re sometimes in other moods than doing your job and if you have a crazy boss this Peer Pressure keyboard is your 20 minutes saver. It imitates the fast typing sounds so all the others around will think you are working hard.

Here comes another funny idea! This is a Peer Pressure printer that prints out only positive texts about you, copying your positive emails so anyone who will pass by it will get a better impression about your personality.
